iBooks issues with corona and Absinthe

It seems that the latest corona (even the one included in Abstinthe) has some issues with iBooks.
I haven't seen those issues right away since I usually read books without DRM.

I'm searching what's going on...
If you know free books from the store that have issues please comment this post and let me know the title.

Update #3 : Corona 1.0.8 is on Cydia, you have to install it to get the fixes for iBooks.
All devices are OK with this update, EXCEPT iPhones 3GS old bootrom.

Update #2 : @planetbeing pushed a modification on corona git repository that makes an other patch on the kernel for fixing issues on iBooks : stay tuned !

xBooks cydia repository removed

Hi all,

Since corona 1.0.5 the xBooks fix is useless (and even prevents iBooks to work).
So I've took down the xBooks repository, please remove the souce from Cydia if you still have it.

All the fixes like xBooks should be uninstalled with corona 1.0.5 and above.

PS : I saw the jailbreak tool for 4s and iPad 2 on OSX today, it's pretty cool, but needs some fixes before release.

Kernel sandbox patched !

With the invaluable help of @pod2g, I've patched the kernel in corona to make iBooks work without the ugly tweak called xBooks. Still no ETA.


The patch was written by @comex for jailbreakme3, I modified it to make it work with corona.


I've developed this patch on my iPhone 4. 
It needs to be adjusted to the other devices and being tested.
Since I do not own an iPad nor an iPod, I cannot do that myself. Hopefully, MuscleNerd will do the rest of the job and will release the package soon.


For xBooks users:
When this fix will be released, the xBooks fix will be obsolete and you'll need to remove it and reinstall iBooks.

Package update v0.2

I've updated the package to v0.2.
It fixes the icon and the rights of the files (thanks to @bass63 for pointing this).

If you had previous version follow those steps :

• uninstall it with cydia (this uninstalls iBooks)
• install iBooks from the AppStore,
• reboot,
• install xBooks from Cydia,

DO NOT TRY TO LAUNCH iBooks before xBooks !!

As usual use this at your own risks.

I have added a new Cydia source to distribute the iBooks fix.
Follow those steps to install it :

• open Cydia, 
• go to Manage tab,
• tap Modifiy,
• tap Add
• enter the URL : http://jnative.free.fr/cydia
• search xBooks
• install
